Let's Talk Kagi News
Ok so I imagine one of the first things for a lot of you is...."What's Kagi?" So let's get that out of the way. Kagi is a search engine company focusing on privacy and an ad-free experience. They do this with a subscription model to pay their bills. They actually have a couple of other projects as well, but those are stories for another time, as is Kagi Search itself. Today we're focusing on their fairly new app Kagi News.
Kagi News is a fresh take on the news. Instead of endless refreshes or constant notifications, you get a daily update on a handful of topics. It also is a curated view of the story where you get a summary, the important highlights, the sources that you can read the full articles from, opinions, and historical background (for say when you might need some extra context). It does this by reading a lot of RSS feeds, aggregating them, and just presents the facts it finds. And as an added bonus, it also filters out ads and clickbait, saving you some bandwidth and time. It's also not some hidden algorithm—the Kagi Community curates the sources and are invited to contribute to the project (GitHuAnd here's the best part: unlike Kagi Search, Kagi News is completely FREE.
